Welcome to

Langdale Primary School

Welcome to Langdale Primary School's website. We are a two-form entry primary school in the heart of the Westlands and Clayton community in Newcastle-Under-Lyme.

We welcome children from the age of 2 in our Little Learners facility and enjoy watching them flourish and grow into unique individuals as they journey through our school, leaving us with the necessary life skills to be successful learners for life.

Our success is built upon our strong school vision that everyone in our school community is an important PART of making our school a success. Our staff, children and families show PRIDE in being a part of our school community, they show AMBITION for all, they are RESILIENT and RESPECTFUL and they work TOGETHER to achieve this.

As part of the Creative Learning Partnership Trust, we are proud to embrace their vision that children are at the centre of all that we do. Our curriculum is bespoke and is designed with our children, families and community in mind. We foster strong relationships between our school and our families and would extend a warm welcome to any prospective parents looking for a nurturing school with a strong ethos and values.

If you would like to visit our school, please contact us on 01782 948000 or email the office on office@langdale.staffs.sch.uk.

I look forward to meeting you and showing you all that Langdale Primary School has to offer.

Pupil Achievement Harriet dances at Wolstanton Dance Academy (WDA) and she performed in their latest dance show last week called 'Level Up' at the Rep Theatre in Stoke. She had dress rehearsals until 10:30pm on Monday and Tuesday night and performed for audiences on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. She was in 7 dances which were in different styles such as Ballet, tap, Commercial, Irish and Jazz. Harriet did this as well as attending school everyday. We think she did amazingly well! #BeProud #BeAmbitious #beresilient #berespectful #together #beapartoflangdale

Year 3 had a fantastic day at Grosvenor Museum this week. We loved sharing our knowledge with the staff and learning more about the impact that the Romans had on Britain. Marching around the streets of Chester and learning shield formations was also a particular highlight for the children! #beproud #BeAmbitious #beresilient #berespectful #together #beapartoflangdale #chester #GrosvenorMuseum

NO PENS DAY Today we celebrated no pens day. The day was exactly what it sounds like all pens were banned! No Pens Day is a national event where schools put down writing tools to focus entirely on talking and listening. It aims to support the 1 in 5 children who struggle with speech and language. We had great fun celebrating! In Reception the children learnt Makaton signs to songs. In Year 1 the children went on a hunt to practice their phonics skills and reading words as a team, they did practical maths involving lots of discussion of word problems and they even made models to showcase our knowledge of plants. They also learnt signs to their brand new story Where the Wild things are. Year 2 played What am I? - the children had to think of and say good clues for their friend to guess the word which was stuck on their headband. Examples of words were taken from their learning this year For example : Saturn, scrumptious, No Man's Land, Greenland, shipwreck, Mary Seacole, architect, Europe. Next, they made up stories using Story Dice and performed them for the class. They even worked in groups to present a bar chart showing the different amounts of coloured sweets in our packs; we compared our results with other groups using mathematical language (then ate the sweets!) The fun continued up on into Key stage 2 where African Savannah artwork was produced and Modroc was produced to create sculptures. The whole of Langdale was a buzz with children talking, signing, communicating and sharing their ideas! #NoPensDay #beproud #BeAmbitious #beresilient #berespectful #together #beapartoflangdale
